China Sliding Backward

Does China do this?

I’m sure people think it could never happen in America.

I hope this doesn’t happen in SF

I’d be more worried about laws targeting foreign owners. Who’s going to vote to protect their rights? I think people would easily vote to take property away from them. Maybe prop 13 would work against them, because it could be used to determine fair value.

Constitution is stil there. Does constitution protects foreigners?

I’m willing to give up my real estate ownership to any full blooded native Americans whose ancestors resided in the Bay Area before the Spaniards came and took away their land.

Having cleared the way to remain president of China indefinitely and installed a trusted ally as his right-hand man, Xi Jinping will now focus on making his country the world’s largest economy by 2035.

In his speech at October’s party congress, Xi said attention should now focus on 2035 as the year to “realize socialist modernization.”

After achieving a certain degree of economic well-being by 2020, the country will aim to surpass the U.S. as the world’s largest economy. Key projects relating to big data and artificial intelligence and their integration into the economy have already been earmarked for completion by 2035.

Beijing has made an elaborate calculation by setting 2035 as the target year. He Yiting, executive vice president of the Central Party School, an important organization that trains party cadres, said this involves bringing forward the goal of overtaking the U.S. economically by about 15 years.

They should focus on their people and provide a good life to everyone. WTF with being the #1 or #2 in total economic output? This is not an Olympic competition. Granted, this is the Chinese version of “Make China Great Again”.

We should forget about country boundary and just work hard to improve human life.

Making itself the biggest economy is the way to improve human life.

It should the biggest, since the population is so big. If GDP per capita were equal, China’s economy would dwarf the US.

If GDP is really based on IQ and capitalism alone then Chinese GDP per capita should eventually exceed the US. However I think there is also resource constraints that can play a factor, as well as demographic shifts.

China will have an older population than US soon. They need to send bonus and medals to new mothers

Well, Africa has the youngest population. Are you bullish about it?

There is one blogger brags that his ancestors left the poor China to lick Americans’ feet. Xi is building his nation so that Chinese don’t have to be so lowly. I wish Xi all the best👏🏻

That’s because some Chinese are too concerned about losing face, and when they do they feel as if they are the most unfortunate people out there. You don’t hear black people saying the same thing about their ancestors even though they were imported as slaves.

You can’t be too handsome in china either.
