That’s exactly why lawful citizens have the right to own a gun. You don’t know when you’ll be confronted by criminal. Telling them what they are doing is against the law isn’t going to deter them. Even if you manage to call 911, they aren’t going to respond in time.
I know. People think if guns are illegal then criminals won’t get them. Making drugs illegal has been completely effective and getting them off the streets. Drug overdose deaths are way down.

Knives kill more per year than every gun that’s not a handgun… We should ban knives. They are a bigger danger. Knives kill far more than the AR15 or your military grade weaponry.
Also, the military uses 9MM handguns. They use shotguns. They use knives. What are you calling military grade weaponry? They use trained dogs too. Are dogs going to be illegal?
Cancer kills more every year than any weapon out there. We should ban cancer, oh wait…
Knives have in totality now much more useful utility than bad ones. Try that argument with AR15s…

Your premise was to make people safer. If that’s the goal, then you should start by banning the things that cause the most deaths. Instead, you focus very specifically on one cause of death which doesn’t even rank that high. Then you change the criteria to only ban things with no useful utility which is defined arbitrarily by you. You also ignored that the military uses many different guns include the 9MM handgun. It’s interesting how you ignore facts then change your criteria.
Well, our debate if you will always centered on guns and more specifically military grade weaponry such as AR15s. You are the one who wanted to introduce things like death by medical care and knives to the discuss when we know that they overwhelmingly are way more positive than AR15s.
