With over 30 states now suing Biden over both Keystone and a halt to drilling leases on federal lands while rising gas prices eat people’s stimulus checks he likely wishes he’d said nothing about energy either. At least now he has the gift of a mass shooting to distract and re-direct everyone.
If one wants increased immigration there are far more effective and structured ways to do it than just throwing open the border. Other countries are chosey. We should be too. Increasing GDP by merely adding more warm bodies instead of adding more educated, productive bodies doesn’t increase living standards.
If the border were open, people wouldn’t be stuck there now. They could have walked right thru it.

It’s amazing how most counties have a qualification system for immigration. Trump mentioned it and was labeled racist for it. If you look at his outline, it was almost identical to what Canada does. Yet, no one is calling Canada racist for doing it.

Another day and another idea for a new tax. I swear every day there’s another new tax and a pile of new regulations they want to add.
They have to with all the low fuel consumption vehicles (worse: pure electric)…cannot raise enough on fuel taxes alone.
With mileage tax, uber and Lyft drivers would wait in the carparks rather than drive around 
Some how I bet it’ll end up being higher in total taxes collected. It’ll also crush lower income people with longer commutes.
Broad-based consumption tax usually crush lower income group more than the wealthier ones. Should tax based on capacity of the engines or value of the car or category of the car.

Biden is a transformational president. Every few decades the reigning ideology changed. FDR’s New Deal government activism was the guiding ideology from 1933 to Carter. Reagan’s neoliberalism reigned supreme from 1980 to Trump. Biden just began a new chapter. Get used to it. The left turn will last decades.
