The so called “scholars” are legitimizing money printing as a science. The government need not raise taxes nor does the government need to worry about deficits. It just needs to print more money. Like everything else fraudulent, they have a fancy name for it - modern monetary theory.

California losing congressional seat for first time. Population of state is stuck at 40 Million level.
there is nothing wrong with money printing as long as it does not benefit firms with virtual products or any of the supporting useless structures.
Physical assets are getting auctioned. if all the commercial property get auctioned and demolished. plenty of space for homes.

there is so much open commercial space in Pleasanton - when you drive down Hopyard - every single office park has a leasing sign in front of it. The problem is zoning. NIMBYs will fight tooth and nail against new housing. A friend wanted to open a school (she runs daycares, which are in short supply here) and ran into zoning issues, though there is plenty of unused, leasable space available.

What is presented in opposition of NIMBY is very scary. Who wants 1000 unit structure near a single family home?
yes, I agree. but there is so much opportunity for garden style apartments (2-3 stories) in pleasanton in the right spaces for it (not in SFH neighborhoods). what people don’t want are the poors who live in those garden style apartments. Keep out the poors and their children!

NIMBY is OK. You will give an inch to NIMBY haters, they will demand a mile a day later.
Now that stabilization (or even decline) of population in California is confirmed, What could it mean for real estate market in California? How can it impact rents and housing density ?
Arizona would have picked one up except for too mamy people being offput by all the intrusive questions in the census and not bothering to answer it.
Within less than a generation almost every state will be in population decline. By 2080 the entire human race is expected to be in population decline; some put the date as soon as 2050.

True. It will be a good idea to understand the life in declining population country like Japan. There are YouTube videos that show some people in japan just leave the home abandoned when there is no one to live in. No buyer, no resale value. Reminds me of boarded up homes in Michigan. No buyer.
agreed I’m in Pleasanton and people here are so NIMBY I hate it.

Everyone loves NIMBY so long as it is someone else’s backyard. Those who want NIMBY to be gone should start from their own backyard.
I have voted for candidates who wanted to enact non NIMBYness in my backyard.
Why do you want a no-NIMBY in you back yard? There are many backyards that look like what no-NIMBY does to a backyard. Just shift there.
