Austin Real Estate

Good choice.

:+1:

The period from before Christmas to after CNY is ideal. Escape the Cedar fever and extreme cold

Now that makes perfect sense.

Even Hawaii is cold

That’s it. No more EVs anymore and fire up the coal power plants. This has gone too far.

EVs aren’t the problem. Natural gas is, apparently.

Bummer when you are stuck in your all electric house with an EV that won’t charge with no power. Freeze to death? Call Uber and fly to Cancun burning lots of fossil fuel.

EV is banned! Use too much electricity.

One of the reason why I don’t buy there  … always have water issue. My rentals are in NW Austin and Northern suburbs.

Electricity: ERCOT ordered rotating service interruptions recently. Suspended since last Thursday. Households that are supplied by the same substation that also serve critical infrastructure, and critical safety and health operations would NOT be subjected to rotating (electricity) service interruptions. By luck, my house is one of those households. So no service interruptions at all.

Water: Households under the jurisdiction of democrat-controlled city of Austin and Travis county experience water issue. Williamson county (run by Republican until recently) didn’t. Hopefully, Republicans would win back the county. Democrats’ priority is to serve the dreamers, homeless, criminals, drug addicts and illegal immigrants which I don’t belong to.

The greenies will never fess up to the truth about renewable energy that even Michael Moore acknowledged.

Glad your house is less affected.

How are you handling your rental houses pipes burst and all? I got some pictures of mine and still in damage assessment by PM.

PM didn’t mention any issues arising. Finger crossed.

I heard from neighbors, a few households in the community have friends’ families staying with them for the week because of no water and no electricity, and couldn’t book into any hotels as they are fully occupied.

Electric bill arrived. Total $111.07, about 10% higher than last month. So much for the scare. Fixed rate is perfectly A-Ok. Market rate is like open check… whoever opt for market rate is taking a high risk.

Good for you! Unfortunately I got pipe burst situation and water coming down from ceilings. Started an insurance claim now.

Received monthly statement on Austin rental.

One house has to clear damaged tree branches, $450

For my Primary, self help on damaged tree branches, city will collect them on the curbside. However, may have to spend few hundreds to couple of thousands dollars to replace all the plants - will wait till end of Mar to see any of them recovered.

Totally unrelated to housing, but this beekeeper (or is she a bee-remover?) in Austin is pretty cool.

Price of houses in Austin appreciate like stocks :money_mouth_face: Chart indicates ~$420… similar houses are transacted at ~$500. Blowoff top?
