No. If the joists sit on the mud sill on the foundation no cripple wall
Thanks to the info from this forum. I just completed my earthquake brace and bolt retrofit.
The process is quite detailed and a lot of documentation. I contacted 5+ contractors, and only 2 responded. So I only got 2 quotes; both were basically the same. Luckily the contractor I selected did all the work on the documentation and saved me a lot of time. If anyone wants referral, let me know; and I can make $100 for referral.
- I applied in October last year.
- In February, I got notified that I was selected thru random drawing.
- February to March, I got quotes from contractors and selected the contractor to go with.
- April, submitted plans for approval.
- May, approved to proceed.
- June, did the retrofit.
- July, city inspector did final inspection; EBB review passed; received check; plus pay contractor.
You’re welcome!!! I may be obnoxious on occasion but I do try to help when I can…
I already asked this question on another thread and then found this thread, so asking the question here as well. I applied for EBB and got an email that I was accepted into the EBB program. Would you be able to share the details of the contractor you used? Thanks.
