plus the moment oil runs out (which shouldn’t be too much longer for UAE), they will be in trouble as almost all the professionals and all the labour is from emigrant workers on short visas. They will be gone, leaving a country that can’t run on it’s own

I like Dubai. It will be the center of finance, trade, fashion, culture for the middle east. It could become the center of cultural evolution for the Muslim world for the next 1000 years. When will it be a good time to buy a condo in Dubai and rent to immigrant workers?
As long as you have money to buy a condo, you can become a Dubai resident.
