The West Coast is quite expensive, I guess. There are plenty of affordable cities to live in, and some are in the East, like Orlando, Florida or in the South, like Austin, Texas. These cities are both included among the best cities to live in the US. A big city always comes with more opportunities. It really depends on what you are looking for.
