It’s getting so even finance people are expected to do some entry-level coding. It used to be big ERP systems like SAP and Oracle were king. Now all the data is in SQL, MYSQL, or Redshift. Write your own queries to pull data, analyze it, and create reports. No more spending 1-2 years with SAP developers to create reports that are obsolete by the time they are ready. New reports can be created super fast and modified as needed.
You are saying the same thing as what users say when PCs invaded the office. Mainframes died but transaction processing systems migrated to ERP
