US has similar law and order situation. But US is very big, both land and population, additionally constitutional rights and team of lawyers to protect both the parties. We can not compare USA and Singapore.
Come on,what real military action would Singapore get itself in? Isnāt it like Switzerland?
Goals of NS (draft):
a. Defense force acts as a poison shrimp to aggressor, deterring foreign aggression;
b. Build a highly lucrative defense industry to sell into the troubled world then (modeling after US); and
c. Train a group of citizens that are obedient and respect authority.
In USA, individual rights is as right as the nation. In Singapore, nation is on top of individual rights.

Singapore is a city state hardly comparable to the USā¦I was there 30 years ago. .Seemed very livable, more livable at that time than anywhere else in Asia for a westerner. ā¦But it is very smallā¦Canāt imagine spending your whole life thereā¦

I certainly wouldnāt limit myself, but the wifey really loves it here. I didnāt anticipate that I would meet someone more ingrained to this area than me. That is the big guy messing with me againā¦

Donāt get me in trouble, @hanera. She already told me when we were making our marriage rules that she would never ever let me travel to Asia alone. She knows how women can be and what goes on back there when a man checks into a hotel alone. Oh well, at my age, not something I think about (until someone like you mentions it).
