Fraud in SV

The marketing genius that is Lululemon. They have convinced women that their expensive yoga pants at nearly 100 bucks a pop are better than everyone else’s even though we know better. Come on, anything that tight will make almost anyone’s butt and legs looks slimmer and thus sexier. Not rocket science, yet my wife swears by them. And of course women wear these out in in public like pants, but we hetero males are supposed to not stare and just act as if nothing is going on. They want us to stare yet they dont… ARGHHHHHH!!!

Calm down @sfdragonboy. Geez it’s only Tuesday.

It may be only Tuesday, but The Donald is literally wearing out his ink pen…

Just checking: no women wear yoga pants to work, right?

But I am on the bus all the time remember? Yoga pants are everywhere down here in the Embarcadero especially with all the gyms here. Evil…very evil

I drove by bodyrok in the rain one day and almost crashed my car. So I know what you are going thru bro.

That’s located in Mission. Why do the young people like Mission? Is it because of its lower rent or many restaurants and many other services?

What other neighborhood could be competing with Mission? SOMA, mission bay, bernal, Potrero, Chinatown, japantown, tenderloin or Oakland?

Don’t forget the Marina…they got that dating Safeway remember???

I thought Marina is much more expensive and the young people can not afford

Yes, but regardless of affordability, mostly young and female. Area is considered pretty safe and let’s be honest pretty vanilla. Is reasonably close by express bus to work. I had coworkers years ago live there in small studios for over 1K/mo and that was considered crazy even back then…

Marina is true yuppies-- newly Minted bankers and lawyers who can afford a pricy 1br or studio (or share a 2br)

I am sure there are some of those, but if you have roommates sharing say a Marina SFH with 3 bedrooms, each paying 2k let’s say, that is doable. Crazy, but doable right? What tends to happen is that these folks either burn out and return home (wherever that is) or they move to cheaper climes. It’s a revolving circus…

How do the yoga pants ladies go to work from Marina? Do they have to drive? There are no streetcars there, and I don’t recall seeing busses either…

Lululemon’s quality is a bit better, but most people I know buy Lululemon when they are on sale, not at full price. However even when they go on sale I still think they are overpriced.

They like the Mission because of the restaurants and the hip factor

Uh…yes we do.

Hmm…

Express Muni buses during commuter hours that I believe go through Broadway tunnel, or I suppose the regular lines that go from the Marina to North Beach and then Financial District or downtown

It’s more for convenience than anything. If we go to the gym after work it’s more convenient to just show up in yoga pants versus bringing a change of clothes.

I guess I didn’t have that many female coworkers the last time I held a day job. Certainly none of the “trendy” ones as they are engineers like me. Yoga pants was definitely not a thing at my work.
