From autonomous vehicles to healthcare

Amazon has a secret health tech team called 1492 working on medical records, virtual doc visits

Apple’s health unit is also working with partners in the industry to aggregate medical information, CNBC previously reported. Google and Microsoft have stumbled in similar efforts, known as Google Health and HealthVault.

Amazon Threat Causes Shakeout in the Health-Care Industry

Analysts have speculated that Amazon could soon enter the business of selling prescription drugs, threatening to disrupt retail drugstores, drug wholesalers, and the pharmacy-benefits management business.

AV - TSLA, GOOG, AAPL, GM, NVDA, UBER, BIDU, TCEHY? BABA? Who else?

There are many players in the autonomous vehicle field and Apple has a lot of competition. Companies like Waymo, Uber, Toyota, Lyft, GM, Renault, Baidu, Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Honda and Yandex are all working on self-driving technology and many have much larger testing operations than Apple.

Healthcare - Apple (start from devices), Google (start from drug research), Microsoft, now Amazon (start from pharmacy), who else? All four want to crack the telemedicine dream.

I have seen GM’s Cruise testing AV in SF numerous times. I have only seen Google’s vehicles once. I have never seen Apple’s.

Other companies working on AV: Nvidia, Uber, Baidu and I think Tencent too. Not sure about Alibaba.

Speaking of driverless car, the most recent research shows Tesla at almost the dead bottom in the race, while GM and Waymo leading.

SF is too dangerous for AV.
