2028 is a long way away but if Newsom is Tier 1 things are looking really bad for the Dems.
“Joy” was the word for Harris. I wonder what it would be for Newsom?
Newsom’s word will be “Revenge”. And we all want that as Dems.
We are angry and we want accountability.
Trump was elected because people were angry and wanted accountability. Revenge as a motivator will be wearing thin a year from now. Especially if we have another shutdown fiasco over giving welfare to people making $130,000 a year.
Desire for revenge from Trump people will be wearing thin. It is mostly gone as Tuesday’s election showed.
The thirst for revenge from Dems is burning hot and bright. Anger will keep picking up as masked thugs continue roughing up random people and millions losing health insurance and food stamps. I sure hope shutdown continues until next year’s midterm. The resulting blue wave will be of biblical proportion.
Margins of victory in blue or red districts don’t matter. Only districts switching sides do. And I don’t see any evidence of that happening. In my district Republican voter registrations continue to far outpace Democrat registrations. It’s funny but people here also hope the shutdown goes on until the midterms. That way folk can see just how small a portion of the federal government we really need. Those “millions losing health insurance” don’t live here. They’re all rich people who should never have received subsidies in the first place. People in places like NYC who will vote Dem no matter what. We can take care of our own truly needy here. No need for the Feds to do that. It just encourages the poor not to work.
This is what defines current right wing thinking. Every man for his own and rule of the jungle. You can’t be too rich but you can be too poor. Down on your luck and need help seeing a doc or even put food on the table? Sorry, just be rich and problem solved.
America in my experience is not like that. We will see in next year’s midterm.
