Why would you want something like that? Just the yard itself is a maintenance nightmare. Will probably cost $500 per month gardening upkeep. Another $500 per month for the cleaning lady.
Not only those, PGE bill will go up $750 during winter…Water bill etc.
This home is in my dream only, not going to happen, unless I make $1M / year in future…
That’s why I don’t own homes greater than 2000 sqft. Preferably with a yard that is concrete based…
You can buy a nice 4000 sf house in san Ramon and Dublin for 1.5M easily. You can also make the yard mostly low maintenance. New houses have better insulation but you can install solar. The operating cost can be lo low for a 4K house
Me too Though I don’t necessarily want to build so much as remodel.
Yes, Dublin might be the way to go… “manor for cheap”…
Bumping this thread.
Just had my first loss in flipping but things are looking up.
In retrospect, do you think you have bought at the peak? Or spent too much on remodel?
It was an unfortunate situation, so I have learned from it. Still happily chugging along though
It is all about the purchase price. Buy it wrong there is nothing you can do. Buy it right and you literally have to do nothing. My current strategy is to buy hold and let the market add value through appreciation and do as little improvements as possible.
What were the lessons you learned?
Personally, I would just convert it into a rental and ride it out. Why take that hit when you know prices will eventually rise back up.
