and why homes are so freaking expensive!!!
More dependent upon access to a variety of food. How can you live long when you live in the middle of nowhere with fast food as your only option.
I had a friend grow up in North Dakota. .20 miles to nearest restaurant. .KFC…
Let’s see… fried chicken is from the south, no?
Agree, having food variety + cafes + development increases life span. . Though living a long life is not a top priority for most people around the world
Access to good/great healthcare (let’s not talk about the cost), relatively clean coastal air, best quality water from the tap, and fresh veggies/fruits from within the state all contribute to why we live longer here. We are also very active and exercise a great deal more than some folks. It all adds up…
The longest living are in the mtns in Colorado. .Don’t be too smug in SF…I hike and ski with 80 year olds…One guy is 97…skis every day…As far as eating out…I will live much longer cooking my own food…Restaurants cook for taste not health…lots of salt, fat and carbs in restaurants. …As far as restaurants we have 200…enough for 300,000 tourists…
Well, some of us like a little activity as opposed to being a hermit in the mountains of Colorado. And we ain’t smug in the Fab 7x7, we are just reporting out what are facts. Come on, I recently attended a funeral for a wonderful lady who passed at 95 and who lived in the Fab 7x7 a great deal of her life. She maxed that life out…
Colorado is not that isolated. .They even have there own liberal hotbed…Boulder. .the Berkeley of the Rockies…Probably will have rent control soon…you would feel right at home…lol
The great thing about South Lake Tahoe, is than we have no snobs at all…The North Shore looks down there nose at us…We even have lots of homeless, supposedly bused in from Sacramento. …would make a San Franciscan feel right at home…lol
I agree, SLT is wonderful. I love going up there as often as I can, and I am not even remotely a skier or boater. Pretty relaxing, I like a little gaming now and then, and the laid back scenery. You got it good, @Elt1. There is no way in heck we can compete with you or can legitimately pick a fight with you. I suppose if I lived there later in retirement I would probably turn into a NIMBY, as I frown on the crowds invading the town during ski and summer seasons…
You better be careful. They are saying variances in life expectancy are due to socioeconomic status. Pretty soon you’ll see people advocating life span control in the name of fairness.
