I found this post (the first answer to the question) very interesting: it seems to confirm a lot of the observations that have been made here.
Read it and there are holes you can poke in it, but honestly what is the point? You can interpret the data how you want or find the data you want.

The author of that Quora post, Sam, gets referral money from the real estate crowdfunding site. It’s in his blog. He is claiming that stocks are down and rental properties are risky. He doesn’t inspire confidence or trust in me.
