A number of cities in LA County already have rent control that are tighter than AB1482 (and thus they take precedence over AB1482).
For the unincorporated areas, there was temporary RC on the books since Dec 20th 2018. Recently, LA County supervisors passed a 4-1 vote approving PERMANENT rent control in all the unincorporated areas.
