Why would the economy be bigger? Are people going to spend more on metaverse food, clothing, and housing than on the real versions? Second life has been around for how many years now? Are VR glasses going to suddenly give it more tracking that it’s had in ~20 years?
.
Eventually, metaverse economy = real economy + AR/VR economy
yes
Current VR glasses are early in the S-curve.
Oh, well of course if you include real + AR/VR then it’ll be bigger than the current economy. The overall economy keeps growing (excluding occasional recessions).
Hope no one’s still holding U. Took a beating today.

As the tide goes out we know who is swimming naked.
- Economist Paul Krugman compared the cryptocurrency boom to the mid-2000s housing bubble.
- Crypto has become so valuable and popular that people wrongly assume it’s worth something, he said.
- The Nobel laureate warned investors have “gone from the Big Short to the Big Scam.”
Whose implementation is Kutaragi referring to? META? RBLX? Or all the metaverse companies. Is a matter of opinion.
Metaverse is about “unifying the real and virtual realms.” It is not here yet but is the ultimate goal. Sony is able to do that now? Wait for Apple headset and Apple glass. Tim Cook is big on AR and mixed reality.
That’s one industry AR could disrupt. It’s a tiny industry though.
Disrupt? Should be enhanced.
I can see this being a problem in real estate when they have a listing that is misleading because of the pictures they uploaded include virtual furniture and decorations that ‘could’ be covering up a leak, mold, etc.
I would hope they have an ON/OFF feature for this though.
Very neat idea for those of us who can’t make up their mind when shopping haha
If I recall correctly, already show virtual furniture.
Do they have an app to find stuff of their shelves?
