The situation is different. You better hope Joe Biden will win and reverse the change to SALT.
Sensible but @manch won’t listen. He wants his pet feminists’ projects and climate change initiatives.

Somethings are irreversible no matter who comes to power. Cap on SALT Deduction is one of them. Democrats cannot anger voters in RED state for the sake of SALT. I think unlimited deduction on SALT is gone for good.
So with 30 trillion in debt Democrats are going to pass a massive tax cut for the rich? I don’t think so. Remember what happened to them just two years into Obama. The got a shellacking in the midterms. And they lost the senate, a majority of governorships and finally the presidency - to Donald Trump. If their first move is to cut taxes for the rich this time around could go the same way as last.
It is a myth that rich pay taxes. Govt may find it easy to collect from rich (because they are few) , but rich recover it from commoners. Taxing Rich is same as Taxing everyone else.
If you think democrats will cut taxes on high income people, then you need to share the drugs. There’s a 0% chance and they want to increase them on couples making over $250k/yr.
Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) on Tuesday pushed for the cap on the state and local tax (SALT) deduction to be undone in the next coronavirus relief package
House Democrats passed a coronavirus relief bill in May that would repeal the SALT deduction cap for two years, but that bill is not expected to be considered in the Republican-controlled Senate.
In politics, there is a word called posturing. Free dictionary defines posturing like this: false behaviour in order to impress or deceive people.
Posturing is a position a person takes when he knows he will not be called on it.
Schumer has to push for it. He represents NY. It doesn’t say democrats overall want it.
