They are doing some great stuff that’ll help people. That’s not the AI research that’l change the world though. It’s merely catching those people up with where the US was decades ago.
Silicon Valley is good at turning research results into money. It is driven by profit. Less and less companies are willing to put huge money into researches with uncertain productization prospects, like HP Lab, PARC, Sun Labs used to do. We are losing the edge gradually. Silicon Valley is at its peak now.
English is good. Toronto and London have been pretty advanced in AI research.
