Poll: Anonymous net worth poll

We’ll see how it goes… crypto unlikely will revolutionize our society anytime soon. If the smart whales cashed out huge sums they did so at the expense of late coming bag-holders (you know who you are, Mr. @ptiemann )

BAGD,

Could you explain why total % is so much more than 100%?

There are cheaters!

You can download the data to a spreadsheet, cleanup the data, normalize to percentages and redo the bar chart. Do NOT use absolute count to prevent effort of matching poll to the guess list

Here are 2 things to cleanup;

  1. Remove all 50M entries since they are all bogus. I see 8 back to back 50Ms and 2 back to back 50Ms. Bad actors are intentialally input bad data.

  2. Remove all entries with multiple answers. Late in the poll, another bad actor figured out the way to attack the system, he selected multiple choices in a single vote.

bad actors that want to make y’all feel inferior.

After proposed cleanup by BAGD, only 27 responses, curve looks similar to what I have thought before poll is completed.

Median wealth now falls to 2.33M. Factor in a self promotional effect, median should be around 2.

Suspect many of you are top 1% in your age group.

Oh boy are we behind!!!

But on the bright side, I don’t have to bear the societal guilt heaped onto the top 1%.

Not only did I miss the top 1% but I am now old enough to have forgotten if I voted in this poll or not :frowning:

I re-read my early responses in this thread. Very funny. I can’t believe what I had written

I guess I’m a 2 percenter. At least I get to avoid all the 1% public disdain.

I am not a 1% but I do not see why it should be a cause of guilt. Those who are should be proud.

It can cause guilt if you are white, Democrat, and not a hypocrite.

But then I don’t see how you can become a 1 percenter if you happen to fall into that category

If one misses it at mid-age once can age into it without any big investing mistakes as the threshold falls after 59. Perhaps the only good thing about getting old.

Just to make sure I did not miscommunicate.
Being a part of top 1% should not be a cause of guilt and shame.

Totally agree with you, erth. As wuqijun aptly pointed out - my husband falls into this “white, Democrat, and not a hypocrite” category. So he feels guilt and occasionally lays it on the rest of us that we should too. I just feel frustration that we can’t be happy with what we have. What happened to heartfelt gratitude at one’s good fortune and a charity towards others to allow them the same???

The guilt-ridden type of people think the world is inherently unfair. That is why they talk of things like equality, justice, fairness. Such people have been driving much of the political discourse for last several generations. And the idea that a rich person is inherently corrupt also arises from the same mindset.
