Quora: Will house prices go down in the Bay Area?

I’m waiting for the answer from @britt522 :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Midland is a boomtown in Texas. Why cherry picking? Tons of desolate cities such as El Paso and McAllen, to name a couple.

Gimme my burger joint back :rage:

yeah I was more so talking HOuston and San Antonio -

Yes - grew up there from age 3 - 22, moved to bay area after that. Houston has no zoning so it’s real estate will always be sustainable, I’m honestly not sure what is going on in Midland besides more oil & gas jobs? But that area along with Houston as a whole goes in cycles iwth the energy industry - either booming or a recession, Houston doesn’t really react to that as much as Midland because the only thing in Midland is that industry where as at least Houston has tons of other jobs.

Conclusion: Texas is more tolerant and better than California  Invest in Austin.

Your net worth is much more tied to California than Texas though. Why badmouth your most important investment over a lesser one.

Georgia and Luisiana have more black people. Is it diverse?

California has Elon Musk.

where did I bad mouth California at all? You mean Bakersfield? I lived there for 4 months so I think it’s fair for me to do that…

Diverse means many races and cultures. Austin downtown is not very diverse. NW Austin and Northern suburbs are diverse.

Diversity is neither a good thing nor a bad thing. A place can be extremely diverse and heaven. Some other place can be extremely diverse and hell like. Don’t give credit to a place just because it’s diverse.

Texas is still Texas. Diversity is a meaningless cliche. Houston is unlivable half the year. Austin is still a wannabe. But compared to Cleveland and the rust belt Texas is a Mecca for middle America.

There’s always Chicago and Minneapolis…

This will tank BA prices. Tax empty units

Oakland has already started to tax empty units.
