Study names I-280 traffic through Cupertino third worst in Bay Area

The stretch of Interstate 280 from east San Jose to Cupertino has been named the third worst in the Bay Area for its morning commute from 6:40 to 10:15 a.m., according to a study done by the Metropolitan Transportation Commission.

This stretch of road, bounded by South Jackson Avenue in San Jose and Foothill Expressway in Cupertino, was ranked No. 20 in the previous year’s study.

I believe it. It’s gotten so much worse the last few years.

I am old enough to remember 280 used to be the escape route. Now 101 and 280 are equally bad, and it seems 280 can even be worse…
