Thinking of getting my real estate license

I have been spending a lot of time studying to get my license. If Biden gets in, am I wasting my time? Should I wait a few months and see what happens?

Not wasting your time… the knowledge stays with you… for a while at least… needs updating of course.

Getting the license also costs $, figure 2k/year for everything.

Thanks. I’m still studying but don’t know if the $2,000 per year would be something I should spend. I have found that a class is about $400. Haven’t found out what it would cost to take the test.

The 2k comprises of several fees and memberships… of course they are all optional

Membership NAR and CAR
Membership local association
MLS subscription fee
Supra key fee

MLS subscription (3) is only available to members of a local association (2) , which in turn requires (1)

You could skip on the lockbox access (4)(in theory), but then you realistically cannot get into any listed houses.

I paid only $99 for my California prep class.

The $400 was for an online class. I haven’t priced any in class prices yet. Right now I’m studying the vocabulary. I read “Real Estate Training For Dummies” book. Also read an online pdf of about 200 pages.
