People are not nuts. Just have tons of money. I recall reading about a Googler paid over 50% of list price for a house (near Stanford if I recalled correctly) in PA during the 2012-2018 run… can’t remember the exact year, should be able to search for the news if you want to verify.

- how many times the buyers failed to get a house
- how long the buyers waited to get one home !

See this home 6931-Chantel-Ct-95129, I showed similar home to my friend during 2008 for $425k, no buyers at that time. My friend did not listen to me (biggest mistake now he feels), still renting home went to mountain house for cheaper living !

SF is going the same was Vancouver and for that matter rest of Canada.
Europe already dismantled firms like Nortel/Bombardier and make sure no other competitors emerge.
80% in ten years. Big woop… we just had 40% increase in 4 months. My Tahoe house is up 90% in less than three years.
All my other Tahoe properties are up over 100% in the last seven
My apartment building is a pain in the neck but the value
is up over 200% since 2016. Even my farm in Cameron Park is up 50% in 2.5 years. This RE forum is off the rails and into the weeds into stocks. Meanwhile there have been massive RE profits to be made 150 miles from SF
80% without stock bubble to support it. Canadian went on consumption binge and enjoying high house prices. . not even high oil prices can save them. No skills left to move up the chain.
Europe is treating them like second class.

They are relegated to third rate by stripping them out any engineering firms that can compete with EU.
Canada and Mexico are now deadweight on US interms of engineering technology.
Elon does put grass infront of them. Apple has to find partners to built car for them.
while EU engineering power is creating independent technical experitise in there zone of countries that is contributing to there industrial supply chains.

Just talked to a guy in Arizona. He said Californians are knocking on doors and trying to buy houses from people that hadn’t even thought of selling. Go East Young Man…

I couldn’t even get San Franciscans to come to parties in my house in Emerald Hills. A very myopic self centered bunch. They had no idea where it was. Their whole world centered around the SF social scene. Things have changed with social distancing.
Of course I am generalizing. But just like New Yorkers think Jersey is in Ohio. SF snobs wouldn’t dream of hanging with the bridge and tunnel crowd… Except on hot days when they want to come and use your pool. Or in the winter when they want to ski. Of course the real snobs fly to Aspen.
none of my friends who still live in SF are this way…
