Key date: July 6. That’s when US will supposedly impose tariffs on China.

No talk so far.

It’s priced in!

Don’t think so, not the US market. I hope it is though.

By this time its priced in.

Asia dropped like a rock. Shanghai -3% and Tokyo -2%. Our futures are in the red and getting lower. :scream:

They have much more to lose. If China goes down so will Japan.

How so? China went down hard but Japan rose in the past century. The fortunes of these 2 countries need not be intertwined.

Somehow my portfolio is GREEN.

AAPL saved nasdaq

Chinese fortunes are not so dependent on Japan. Japan fortunes are getting tied to China more and more

All three major indexes were up today. Although the trade war may hurt us it will hurt Asia more.

If US market holds then Asian markets should take more beating.

Why? A good us market can calm down overseas market.

Chinese stock market has crashed already. Peak was January 26. Did Trump start trading war in January?

China is undergoing a painful deleveraging campaign.

Has China successfully or still in the midst of transiting to domestic driven rather than export-driven economy?

Domestic demand is already a bigger share of economy than exports. But compared to US the share of exports is still higher.

Actually exports share of economy in Germany is comically high if my memory serves. Google it up kids.

Is that demand consumption driven or investment driven. That is the right question!
