There has never been a legitimate recorded incident in Oklahoma of a transgender person harming anyone in a restroom, yet there are numerous accounts of predatory behavior by anti-LGBTQ legislators who have taken bigoted votes akin to the vote Senator Shortey cast last year.

What worries me is the feeling that in order to make a buck, to not pay taxes, to feel congratulated for winning the elections, this so called president’s supporters are selling America to the highest bidder. Anything and everything about this guy smells to crook ideas and actions.

What do you think ACA was? The only reason pharma and insurance called off the lobbyist bullying was they got to write large pieces of the legislation. If you doubt who benefited, then look at the stock of health insurers since ACA passed. If it was really bad for insurers and good for Americans, wouldn’t insurer stocks be down?

Agreed. Some of Obama’s policies screwed the middle & lower class too. I don’t think the Obama did is so it’s ok for Trump to do it argument that I hear from many repubs in my family is compelling. We should be demanding more from our leaders regardless of who’s team they are on. Prior to 2017, only corporations and billionaires were demanding action from them and it shows.
The leaders change but the people controlling them don’t. That’s why things don’t really change. It’s also why term limits wouldn’t matter much. I think term limits could make it even worse. They’d need jobs after the term limit is up. Do you really think they’re going to anger the very businesses they’d ask for a job after their term is over?
Michael Flynn, President Trump’s former national security adviser, reportedly discussed ways to take a man wanted by the Turkish government out of the United States without going through the legal extradition process, according to The Wall Street Journal.
The conversation, which took place during the presidential race while Flynn was serving as an unpaid adviser to Trump, centered around Turkish cleric Fethullah Gulen.
The Turkish government has long wanted to take custody of Gulen, 75, who has been exiled in Pennsylvania since 1999.
But confirmation of the meeting has been hiding in plain sight all along. Earlier today respected political pundit T. R. Ramachandran posted a lengthy tweet storm (link) which included a reference to a previously overlooked article from Turkish news publication Daily Sabah (link). The article reports that “[Turkish] Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu met with designated U.S. National Security adviser Rt. Gen. Mike Flynn on Wednesday at Trump Hotel in Washington” and goes on to add that “House Intelligence Committee Congressman Devin Nunes, a Republican heavyweight, also attended the breakfast.”
