There are many flu strains. Not cost effective to build a vaccine for every strain (especially as it mutates). So before each season they try to predict most likely strains and build a vaccine for it. Sometimes they get it mostly right, sometimes they don’t
I have a SWE friend who quit his job at a SF startup 3 weeks ago. He’s bitching about having to filter through too many companies trying to recruit him. Some are holding off on onsites until lockdown is done. Others are moving forward using zoom.
I graduated in 1975. 10% unemployment. Even worst than 2008-9. Definitely affects your outlook on life. Tough time’s ahead for this current generation looking at 30% unemployment.
