@manch enjoys transitional cheap laugh.
Btw who is DHH? What is his prediction scorecard?
DHH is a big shot in tech circle. He’s the creator of Ruby on Rail.
What is ruby on rail? Ruby is red stone. Rail is just iron bar. Who care about this?
RoR is a very popular Web framework. This site was built with RoR.
I think the take home point is that he’s a very influential guy in tech circle.
You really think I don’t know ![]()
DNN portrayal of what happened is BS… mixing facts with sh&@ and omitting salient facts. It was well documented that SJ forced MSFT to invest $150M and continue to develop Office for Mac for 5 years in exchange for Apple stopping the sue vs MSFT for copying Mac Windows paradigm. Satya Nadella was made CEO to focus MSFT on cloud computing after the board realize Balmer universal windows OS for desktop and handheld devices are incorrect.
Why would other companies help Apple launch a new platform, who in turn will screw them royally by charging them heavy taxes?
Apple has turned into the least developer friendly platform.

Making a verdict when jury is not out. SMH. I tagged so I can search this topic easier.
This is a possibility although “heavy taxes” is relative term e.g. for you $1k is a lot of money whereas for Zuck is insignificant and words like “screw… royally” are vulgar. Many other possibilities. No point telling you since you’ve prejudices and are not creative.
Tag: First year sale estimate by Wall Street. Jan 19, 2024
The product went on sale at 8 a.m. Eastern time on Apple’s website and mobile app. The first Vision Pro orders are scheduled to be delivered to stores and consumers on Feb. 2. But delivery dates for all three models quickly slipped to March 8-15 for online orders while the device was sold out for in-store pickup on day one at many locations. The delay suggests that either demand is strong or supplies are limited — or something in between.
Wall Street analysts are predicting a slow start for the device. UBS Group AG analyst David Vogt expects Apple to ship 300,000 to 400,000 units this year, generating as much as $1.4 billion.
Apple made two new ATHs in 2023, currently trading less than 5% from ATH, yet you have articles that claim stock sentiment is sour. ![]()
Over the last 10 years, AAPL B2C model makes it the largest market cap yet MSFT B2B model overtakes market cap of AAPL for a few days, pundits claim that B2B model is superior.
Is this recency bias? Or big boys want to bring down the market? There is a saying, if AAPL goes, so does the market.
Wait, they are going to pay new publishers to use their data? They aren’t going to just steal it….
LLMs running on phones is game changing. Google and Apple are both doing it. OpenAI is going to be a dinosaur fast unless they quickly adapt.
This game is new, probably constant leap frogging till someone lost their way.
BofA upgrades AAPL by 20% because:
a. Vision Pro
b. Massive iPhone upgrade because iPhone 16 would come with Gen AI/LLM feature
c. AI App Store
Envy of a “poor” consumer of what is obviously a for-developer product. Ofc, reviewers and wealthy elites would also buy this version. @Heisenberg deserved to be insulted.

I thought the reason it’s called Pro is because there is going to be a cheaper non-Pro version but probably still under development until cost can come down to a level that can match the non-Pro name.
.
Correct. That’s what @Jacol3 implied. For consumers, should wait for the Apple Vision or even SE version. My feeling would debut at around $1500-$2000. By then, should have plenty of apps and services for Apple Vision. So far, we have tens of thousands of keen developers… hopefully a few of them can come out with must-have apps.
