No need to analyze too deeply. Choose the obvious ones, the magnificent SEVEN. If you’re already into S&P or NASDAQ, good enough.
That analogy is horrible. Facebook, Apple, and Google were all pretty small market caps when mobile started. The 4 they list are already 4 of the biggest market caps.
2008 market cap:
AAPL $65B
GOOG $200B
FB didn’t go public for 2 more years

Those are not her recommendations. Just stocks mentioned in the video. She didn’t say what are the AI stocks she is recommending.
ChatGPT maker OpenAI is in advanced talks with former Apple designer Jony Ive and SoftBank’s (9984.T) Masayoshi Son to build the “iPhone of artificial intelligence”, fuelled by more than $1 billion in funding from the Japanese conglomerate, the Financial Times reported on Thursday.
Something to look forward to, unlike Apple’s iPhone that doesn’t spot much difference year over year.
From his past records, his investment is not that great. However, his explanation of technical stuff is easy to understand.
Soon every car manufacturers are as good as each other.
Amazon getting on the GenAI train. Where is Apple? You know, the stuff they have been working on for years?
Meta’s Ray-Ban Smart Glasses Could Be A Gamechanger
By Nick Grous

During its Connect 1 event earlier this fall, Meta showcased new smart glasses that fuse technologies from MetaAI with Ray-Ban sunglasses to create a personalized AI assistant. In a compelling demo, Meta showed how users can look at an object, ask questions, and receive comprehensive answers instantly.
After using the Ray-Ban smart glasses for a week, we are deeply impressed. Powered by Meta’s large language model, Llama 2, the glasses respond to voice messages in an intuitive and nuanced way far superior to Siri and Alexa Voice.
Meta’s AI assistant also seems to offer the first hands-free computing experience that sets it apart from alternatives. Without touchscreens, the Ray-Ban Meta AI sunglasses enable users to interact with their surroundings, access information, and complete tasks seamlessly. While a wholesale shift to voice-centric interaction has yet to be proven, Meta’s integration of AI with smart glasses could be the first killer feature for smart glasses—and the most compelling case for hands-free computing yet.
The tag line should be, “Llama 2: more human than Zuckerberg”.
It’s just super ironic that Siri was the very first speech bot out there in scale, and yet it’s still an unusable pile of garbage. How many years has it been out? 15? Even my kids learned to not ask Siri anything. It will just give you unhelpful garbage.
Apple has never talked much pre-release about development of products and services, and that’s led to concerns that in the case of artificial intelligence it is falling behind rivals.
Cupertino-based Apple doesn’t talk publicly about AI acquisitions and has generally been tight-lipped about its overall strategy in the space, including its longstanding internal R&D in AI, even as big tech competitors — Microsoft, Google, Meta and Amazon — are loquacious in promoting their generative AI chatbots and large language model (LLM) platforms.
AAPL investors knew that. Just ignore AAPL haters/ naysayers/ non-investors. Hyping of vaporware and following the crowd are not in Apple DNA.
While its rivals are focused on building stand-alone generative AI models, Apple has targeted machine learning infrastructure.
LT, Infrastructure >> standalone. Standalone is like fireworks. Infrastructure is what matters. well done.
“That’s led the acquisition strategy to focus on consumer applications of AI primarily, but also operational techniques for machine-learning deployment and edge devices, as well as limited bets on the future of deep learning and more horizontal technologies,” he said.
Cook said, “We view AI and machine learning as core, fundamental technologies that are integral to virtually every product that we build. And, of course, we’ve been doing research across a wide range of AI technologies, including generative AI, for years,” he said.
In this forum, a certain CS major misquoted TC frequently.
GPT is not a new tech. Is an application of generative AI.
LLM is not a new tech, is an application of deep learning and natural language processing technique. So is not a surprise that major tech companies did research on Generative AI and LLM for years, may be decades.
to be continued…
cont’d…
The iPhone 15 features several AI technologies, such as personal voice, which lets users synthesize a voice like their own so they can speak words they type in FaceTime and phone calls, and live voicemail, a real-time transcription of messages.
No wonder progress in SIRI is comparatively slow. Seem like Apple has diverted some talents to above.
That’s why bullish analysts don’t see the competition for Apple as being straight up against the generative AI platforms being pursued by Microsoft, Google and Amazon. Comparisons being made today to the first wave of cloud adoption – and generative AI ecosystems now being referred to by some as Cloud 2.0 – are a good place to look at why it may be less a race than parallel development process. Even as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and to a lesser extent Google Cloud, gobbled up market share as more enterprises migrated to cloud-based computing, Apple made no play for that market.
Exactly, Apple is not a cloud company. Why are so many parroting that Apple has to do what MSFT, GOOG and AMZN do?
Wondering Aloud: There are many smart asses like to parrot superficial pieces instead of doing their DD or read more in-depth analysis pieces.
Some naive bloggers believe whatever Bloomberg reported as fact. I have been at the comment on “Apple only spend $1B per year”. Ofc, I don’t mean what Ives said is fact too. I don’t think Apple is trying to “catch up”… Apple always move on their own timeline.
Hmm… debut at a slower pace is the price to pay to insist on privacy.
Apple is not good at everything. Every company has its own strengths and weaknesses. Often times what makes them strong in one area will turn out hurting them in an orthogonal area. If you blindly believe Apple will be good at any and every thing, how are you any different from the Elon cult?
Just use Siri for real to see how good/bad it is. By the way, do you even have experience with other speech bots? Do you have Google home or Alexa devices? I encourage you to get out of the Apple bubble and try out other things.

When did I say this?
The intention of posting the article is to share an article of a “possible” Apple thinking about AI. Possible because the article is author’s opinion, may not be what Apple is thinking.

How do you interpret the statement below?
Somehow you like to jump into conclusion and put words in other people’ mouths.
