Read news that Indian government is asking amazon to display “country of origin” on all merchandise listed for sale on amazon platform.

Depending on country to country agreement, India has duty free for certain countries. If the country of origin is stated, the duty free can be applied, otherwise it can not be applied.

This is important. Taking the fight to Shopify’s nascent fulfillment network. Before this everything going out of Amazon warehouses is shipped with Amazon branded boxes. Now sellers have the option to have them go in blank boxes.

We’re excited to announce that Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCF) is now offering a select group of Sellers the capability to have their MCF orders sent in non-Amazon branded packaging, a program we are calling “MCF blank box order fulfillment”.

There’s been a LOT of complaints from FBA sellers on inventory restrictions. They can’t send in more inventory until their inventory sells. Then once they send it in it’s 2-3 weeks from the first Amazon warehouse to a customer shippable warehouse. So the seller is out-of-stock for 2-3 weeks at a time. If that’s what is happening, that’s going to really hurt sales. Especially since FBA is a majority of items shipped and has higher profit margins.

Wow, Bezos is stepping down as CEO. Jassy who runs AWS will be CEO. He’s Amazon’s highest paid employee. I noticed recently Dave Clark was promoted from COO to CEO consumer. I think the bigger news is AWS revenue growth is down to 28%.

I think it’s only an option for 2-hour prime now deliveries. The prime now app asks if you want to tip.
