Another AZ gift

We don’t go to crappy time in the fall here. So I still have light in the evening when I actually want it!
It’s the little things…

Acre, you are still young and healthy. How do you spend your time over there?

Lots of hiking and exploring. Then there’s my reptile hobby. And a library only 10 minutes away. Occasionally I get down to the valley (Phoenix metro area) for things like reptile shows and the Arizona Herpetological Association meetings. Still need to see their botanical gardens which can take a whole day to walk through. Have yet to make it to the Sonora Desert Museum in Tucson which is about 3 1/2 hours away but likely will this month. Been around Sedona and Jerome; a bit touristy for my liking but OK for a day. There are some good nurseries in Cottonwood for finishing out my half acre now that I have it all cleared. One that specializes in cactus and succulents has a 15ft high prickly pear that’s been shaped into a tree. Impressive. Prescott has a Trader Joe’s for the few things I miss from CA plus other stuff to see while I’m there like a small zoo that specializes in local fauna.

All within 1 hour’s drive (some hiking required after that).
North central AZ - - it’s not all just javalina in the yard :slightly_smiling_face:

We went to Sedona last spring and love the place.
The color combination of red rocks and green trees was much more beautiful than I imagined.

My old boss is a pilot and builder of planes in Arizona. Heights scare the crap out of me, yet, he is willing to fly hand built planes. Ok…

Likely 70 miles north or south in Flagstaff or Phoenix. I know of one Chinese lady running a take-out in Payson but it’s a donut shop
