And I haven’t even checked for the accuracy of if there’s actually that many high income people(as a % of population as compared to other states). I think the highest income is DC, where all the government paid people live.
CA I think has 25% of the nation’s illegal immigrants(officially) while it has 11% of nation’s population.
The Poverty #s also say CA has @20% of nation’s poor. So, these illegal immigrants are robbing the poor by keeping down wages, forcing them to leave. The “rich” if adjusted for cost of living are not rich as mentioned by UCLAs Peter Ong .
The goal now is to Federally allow and then eventually mandate these kind of policies in all states so that CA’s(read left leaning Blue states,NJ,NY etc) disadvantages disappear and CA gets parity as compared to other states.
1st policy change that should happen in CA should be all non primary rental house owners should pay market rate Property taxes(since supposedly housing is the big culprit) . This will bring more revenue and also free housing to be sold.
I am willing to pay only if the property taxes are based on rental income and not a percentage of the appraised value of the property. 1.24% of the appraised value sounds low but is 30-40%* of gross annual rent. I suspect taxing this way is political, want to make property tax seem low.
*That’s applicable to me only. It varies with when you bought the property. For some, could be 80-90% of gross annual rent.
I think people who want to fund everything should pay out of their pocket.
In fact, I would say all mom n pop rentals should be taken over by the state of CA so that the poor people can live FREEEE and the poor people’s lives will be so much better
Um, how do they even accurately count undocumented immigrants? They are undocumented. They purposely work to stay under the radar. Pretending there’s an accurate count of them is silly.
CA slowly turning into detroit, starting with san francisco
I hope these CA dumbfxxk politican start noticing and stop these stupid progressive agenda and make things a little bit more normal. if continues like that, might sell everything here , my renter moved out of CA recently
