Austin MSA vs SFBA and TX vs CA

I didn’t say he’s Trump. I just said he’s Trump’s minion. People who don’t acknowledge Trump’s loss in 2020 and keep spreading lies about so-called “election frauds” that didn’t happen, are doing enormous harm to our democracy. For me that’s automatically disqualifying. I don’t need to hear another word what that person has to say.

Are you trying to tell that California will be accepted in the list of failed when the white collared gangs will be replaced by the street gangs and mafia (drug peddlers and the BLM types). Actually, it has happened in history several times. At least in the Islamic History, when the mamluks (the slave bodyguards trained to protect the Sultan or Khalifa - the two mean different, but can be substituted by word king for our purpose) , actually displaced the ruler they were supposed to protect and took the reigns of the kingdom. Frankenstein of different kind.

Comepletely agree. I am as liberal as they come and I hate Newsom. Give me a credible Republican candidate (Elder was an idiot) and I will vote R.

Candidates are only part of the game in the politics. It is mostly about ideas. An honest person with right mindset is anytime more desirable than a corrupt person of 2000 IQ. Most of the time system run for itself unless someone is trying to change it. That is why nothing new coming up. A long time ago, people used to look up to California for guidance and new ideas.

The problem that many members of this forum face is that our financial interests are allied with the Republican platform, even though we may detest them morally/ethically. Once your NW crosses 7 figures, you are part of the top 15% or so, whom AOC targets with her “Tax the Rich” gown, for instance.
It feels better to vote for Dems and their more inclusive social platform, but financially Republicans will give an easier ride

agreed. I understand rich R voters completely.

which means I honestly don’t get most Trump voters, who are poor and white and on every social service/handout possible. I think their racism is their last line of pride, and therefore they vote against their own self interest.

Are the non-white Trump supporters racist too?

Can you list a few examples of the ideas that you detest morally/ethically?

Racism is a self interest.

Is pursuing self-interest wrong? Do you not pursue yours? If you do pursue your self-interest, then are you too a racist?

You can’t even convince the right to back him. If he’s any good, tell him to run next year. I don’t think he’s gonna get past Elder in the primary though.

Only 3.2%? Pathetic. Even lower than Cox, who got served court subpoena while on stage and toured around the state with a bear.

Yeah he is young. Needs name recognition. But name recognition alone is a poor way to judge candidates.
Has a good message. Just needs more exposure.

This is the nut job the young guy failed to beat.

Opposing mask and vaccine mandates? Not gonna fly in this state. Tell him to go run in Louisiana.

Not sure he can even keep his Assembly seat next year.

Vaccine mandates are failing everywhere. Even many health professionals refuse the mandate. As far as masks they are up to individual counties due to covid risks. Not currently required in Eldorado county.

I am not arguing whether either mandates are good or not. All I am saying is that voters of this state like them by overwhelming margin. Pols opposing those are committing political suicide, as Elder found out last night.

Sometime it appears to me that good people have abandoned California and they do not even want to stand up for it. Basically, giving free pass to left.
