Austin MSA vs SFBA and TX vs CA

Lot of republican minded people in California have democratic membership. There is no otherway to survive in California . Protection Money?? I guess things are changing, but slowly.

Off to hike the Mazatals in a bit. I haven’t skied in years. Never really thought about it. Turns out it’s not far away.

One thing is certain. Win or lose in November America will not go back to what it was before Trump for a long, long time. Maybe a generation.

Very true.

Take heart. I stuck with the grind until I went from being a loser to a winner. THEN I promptly left. CA is sort of like a casino only without the cheap drinks and friendly service to keep you there. Either way, once you hit the jackpot, you need to leave rather than stay and squander your winnings.

I’ll just repeat myself since apparently you ignored it the first time. California used to be far more moderate. It’s only recently California sank in the rankings for best states to do business. It wasn’t that long ago it had a republican governor. Feinstein actually spoke on how illegal immigrants were impacting the state budget, and how we need to secure the border. Pelosi used to be anti illegal immigration too. California used to manage its water properly. It used to have forest management practices that worked.

Now California is a sanctuary state that gives illegals free healthcare. Now California is consistently trying to take away property rights. Now California this is among the worst states for business. Now California tax revenue is even more top heavy. Now California would rather not manage forests, so they can blame worsening fires on climate change.

If you haven’t noticed the shift in the last 10 years, then you are the frog in the water.

Very good description.

Details :money_mouth_face: Similar to @wuqijun? Joined a startup and bought out? He chose to stay, peddle with RE and made more fortune investing (AAPL, TSLA, FB, …).

Forget Texas, here is a house near St Louis for $65k. Less than the price of a Tesla.
Remodeled kitchen and master bath.
Plenty of cheap housing in the flyover states.

The lazy realtor should have taken better pictures

65K house means how much commission? 2K? I am surprised the realtor even bothered to take a picture.

I did not know California has started competing with Iowa, Indiana, and Missouri.

25 years of start-ups. Never hit a home run but hit enough singles and doubles. Always lived well below my means.

Did you see my link on transportation above?
CA has already lost to all three of those states.

Yes, and I remember being in Florida in 1999. The road between between east of Orlando (like Daytona Beach, or Cocoa beach ) and Miami, I-95, used to be a four lane (two lanes each way) highway. Traveled to FL after almost 20 years. I-95 is now six laned and cars doing 85 without any issue. Traffic flow was smooth. I remember back in 1995. SJ to LA was 6 hours. Not it takes 7 hours and if you have to go to Irvine, count 1 more hour.

To give pandeyathotmail a hand:

So they can get scotch free for having non-consensus sex?

…and the pool of nubile partners just got smaller. Lose-lose

Lol, yet the same party wants to lower the voting age to 16. I can only imagine how jacked up the train of thought is that says you’re too young to consent to sex or be tried as an adult, but you should be able to vote. They also want to raise the age to buy a gun, since the brain isn’t fully developed at 18. Yet, an 18 year old can join the military. I guess the punchline is Democrats want people without fully developed brains to vote, since they’ll vote democrat.

For you or your son(s)?

Not for me exceit maybe in my dreams.
