Are there any banks in your experience who are more lenient and easy to work with than others? If so which banks and why?

Hi there. If the purpose of finding a bank is to obtain a home mortgage, I would advise you to go through a mortgage broker who can find you ultimately the lender. They work with a network of lenders and they can prequalify you for your loan if you think you may have a special circumstance that makes it hard for you to obtain a loan. For example, if you are self employed and you can’t document your income very well not too lenders are going to be able to help you. Nevertheless, I think I have a pretty good mortgage lender in Tracie, who is based in the Fremont/Livermore area. I have done dozens of mortgage refi’s with her over the phone over the years before finally meeting up and now we are buddies. PM me if you want her contact number so that you can see what she can do for you. As always, YMMV (your mileage may vary) is the rule.
