The real issue is that progressives are communists. They think the building industry should be a charity. And that landlords should be regulated like a public utility. This anti capitalist diaspora is the main cause of the housing shortage. Unless the free market is allowed to make profits and be allowed unfettered access to development projects there will little building… we need 400,000 units a year not 20,000.
