Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 Covid-19

The German chancellor isn’t exactly a Trump fan.
She’s also a former scientist.

Not a fan doesn’t mean won’t suck opportunistically.

An OT opinion:
Anyhoo, if she is not doing sucking, she is being opportunistic after the number of deaths shot up… was sitting pretty initially and was praised for being a nation responded well.

Your comment is about an OT opinion and ignoring the core accusation which is the original @elt1 statement.

How the 1 month is computed?
What are meant by “vital”, “serious”, and “accountable” within context?

How much coverage will this get compared to the original?

What do you expect when you flip flop?

Also how available are masks?

Oh, it gets better.

You’d think medical journals would vet things before printing them. “Trust the science” and it turns out the science team is a sci-fi writer and porn actress.

This is an interesting angle to look at the pandemic:

There’s no denying that mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan and South Korea – the East Asian bloc deeply influenced by Confucian culture – have done an impressive job of keeping Covid-19 death tolls low. Taiwan, with a population of 24 million, has reported just seven deaths, while Hong Kong has reported only four. Mainland China’s official death toll is under 5,000.

This could be partly explained by how these populations respect authority, making it that much easier to impose lockdowns and other containment measures. However, this blessing is a curse when it comes to encouraging births because the bigger the government, the smaller the family seems to be.

East Asian populations have the lowest fertility rates in the world, and they might decline more rapidly during the pandemic, so the loss of life might be greater. The US has a strong civil society and a higher fertility rate, and is hence more innovative.

“I think we’re looking at a V-shaped recovery in the stock market, and that has almost nothing to do with a V-shaped recovery in the economy,” he said.

We just printed trillions of dollars and we likely didn’t need to. The Dems still think we need to print at least a trillion more. Result - assets of the rich are worth more dollars and the dollars of the lower middle class and poor will buy less. So yes, they got screwed. Again. And under the guise of helping them. Again.

As retail investors, all we can do is to ride along i.e. long assets like RE, and long stocks like FAANMG and WFHs.

Don’t worry. @pandeyathotmail has wise up. He is buying stocks too  Still stubbornly believe that price is governed by rent in the long run, ignoring the effect of the Fed $ causing asset inflation. Is no longer about P&L of a company, ASSET INFLATION i.e. dollar is depreciating so need to put in asset otherwise our purchasing power will decline. We are not getting richer in real terms even though in nominal terms, we are.

I have said rent and price move together and in the long run maintain a fixed ratio. I am still learning to be a stock market investor. Looks like I missed big move by staying out while market starting going up.

Went to McDonalds in Santa Clara. Now McChicken costs $2.49 for one. Used to cost $1 when it was first introduced. Anyway, ended up spending 12.95 for a combo meal (9+) and a side. Can you believe one should pay $12.95 for a meal at Mc Donalds? If this is not inflation, what is it?

Not sure about that. So far, price appreciates faster than rent in both SV and Austin. I suspect the reason is rentals are bought by wealthier folks while poorer guys are renting. Since in nominal terms, wealthier folks earn more and more while poorer guys don’t have much pay increase, it follows that price would appreciate faster than rent. Agree?

Another postulation is the ratio is not fixed but float with Fed rate which is now 0 :hugs:

You goto American fast food places without coupons? Okay $ir.

When I goto to Jack in the Box occasionally , I always use a coupon! I’m not paying $8-9 for their combo. It’s only $5 with coupon!

For like $6, you can still get a combo box of fried rice/chow mein plus 1 item at Chinese fast food places. You still get a pound or 2 of food. I have to eat it over 2 meals  Drink water for free.

Edit:
@pandeyathotmail
Stack your coupon with a Chase offer
You’re welcome!

$5 for 20 chicken nuggets still available!

I’m on septic. Just about any use of disinfectants is misuse. I make sure my dishwasing soap, laundry detergent, toilet bowl cleaner etc. is free of any antimicrobials. Septic doesn’t work without bacteria. If I need to use bleach any leftovers from whatever I did is placed in a sunny location for a couple days before being discarded; UV renders it harmless pretty quickly.
