Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 Covid-19

People are protesting against unarmed black people being killed by police. Not by their neighbors, not gangs, but by police who are supposed to protect us.

If you find unarmed white people being killed by police I would be upset too. But where are they? How many cases a year?

The protests are overblown - a combination of people having too much free time from unemployment and foreign interference. Those police officers were already charged for killing the guy, what more do they want? If they’re not convicted then it makes sense to protest. The whole defund the police chant is pretty ridiculous. It’s not like the cops are still out there unpunished like those in Hong Kong.

Plenty got unpunished. If they didn’t get caught on camera, and even if they did, chances are they won’t get persecuted or convicted.

Protest is to prevent this shit from ever happening again. To clean up the toxic police culture.

BTW over 60% of Americans support the protest. Stand on the right side of history.

You mean the same 60% that liked Klobuchar and preferred to replace the cops with social workers?

No, the same 60% who want Trump out.

No wonder many white people are in the movement. Police is out of control. Time to clean house.

But note that white population is 5X the blacks and that stat shows whites fatality is 2X the blacks. Blacks are still dying more, proportionally.

Police brutality is not just a race issue, but race has a lot to do with it.

You just proved my point. You are completely unaware that it even happens.

It reminds me of the black police chief who was accused of racial profiling where police cars are assigned to patrol. Then he pointed out it is done by computer algorithm based on historical 911 call volume to minimize response times. Why are more police patrolling black communities? They have much higher 911 call volume. Who’s calling the police? Black people who live in that community. Who’s fault is that? White people. Oh wait… something doesn’t add up.

Cleaning house is almost analogous to the call for eliminating the Second Amendment.

You read my mind. What can I say?

Yeah, get rid of police and the second amendment. What bad things could possible happen?

Here is your daily brainwashing.

Apparently obesity, high blood pressure, and diabetes are all racist since they are more common in black people. Let’s all blame the white man for it. Clearly, white people are the ones deciding what they eat and force feeding them the unhealthy foods. I’m sure white people altered their DNA to make them more susceptible to those things.

As you can see, police departments have been consistently increasing their diversity. I doubt a systematically racist system would do that.

Hundreds of years of slavery, followed by segregation, employment discrimination and redlining have left minority communities with lower-paying jobs and less wealth than established white families. That means living in poorer neighborhoods, cheaper or no health insurance and less access to healthy food options and quality doctors.

Slavery > Poor > Unhealthy food/ crowded lodging > Obesity > Hypertension/ diabetes/ heart disease > Easily sick

BLM protests are also going on in South Korea(among other countries on other continents) this time.

My view is after November 3, 2020 reactions to these kinds of incidents will be back to how they used to be when Obama was President(If Biden wins) . Till then these will continue.

If more cities adopt the NYC immunity from prosecution for protesters policy, it’s gong to get a whole lot worse.

I get that people are mad. The police totally screwed up. I don’t get how looting stores is justice. I don’t get how destroying black communities by rioting helps black people. It’s only going to push more businesses away meaning less jobs in those communities.
