It seem we are making a huge deal out of this when we shouldn’t be.
Confirmed cases in USA is rising at a rate of one double per day…
…after 3 weeks, confirmed cases = 11355 x 2 to the power of 21 = 24 B After two weeks, over 186 million Think exponentially not linearly.
The administration knew, and select members of the admin were prepping their friend’s and families while letting the country rot.
ALL asian here knew. we tried to tell ppl and they all think i’m nuts. Still as today, many don’t care, look at florida, people still go to the beach, it’s the american culture. They simply don’t give a shit until things affect them
The sad thing is they knew, they were briefing their friends and families to prepare, while going on fox news and claiming this was “just another flu” and anyone that claimed otherwise was politicizing the issues.
many of the medical staff still think it’s flu including my cowrokers’ wife and my friend’s brother(i would say 80% of ppl infected will be like flu), but the rate of spreading is way damn too fast. even 5% of infected are serious. a lot will die
Let us know when they start freaking out (or Marcus). That’ll be the bottom.
What we don’t know is repeatedly* infected result in immunity or worse each time.
*infected - mild. Recovered. Infected again. Recovered. Infected again.
And china providing fake data doesn’t help, now claim it’s down to 0, what a BS
just 1 plane back to china contains more than they report , look at hk yesterday from these foreign student flyback to hk
Need to verify premise. Sound the same as Huawei products are used to spy on others but didn’t and couldn’t come out with proofs.
Italy death tolls has already surpassed China. There are always people who turn a blind eye to problems that don’t affect them personally. If we wait for them to change their minds the whole world will burn to the ground.
Fatality rate in Italy is twice that of China. Lockdowns and wearing masks do work. Otherwise, easily millions of deaths.
We should stop referencing China’s numbers. If you want a best case scenario, look at South Korea. If you want worst case, look at Italy. It’s that simple. Everyone knows that 34 is not a realistic number for “new cases” in a country with 1.4 billion population.
California is doing relatively better than other hotspots. NY is still an unmitigated disaster and looks like New Jersey will overtake California soon? WTF? Florida’s beaches may be too welcoming.
All those people who think public transit is great… That’s until there’s a pandemic, and they realize subway cars are essential Petri dishes and help spread the illness.
It’s hard to understand how California is doing so much better. I’ve been looking on google for the past few days. The daily number of tests in CA are hard to find, and seem to be very low.
NY rates went up when they ramped up testing by quite a bit per day.
@manch yardstick is confirmed cases which is not good for comparison because it depends on testing. An alternative metric is death per million people.
Haven’t checked if authorities are testing all deaths(with symptoms) to verify if they died due to Covid19? Anybody know?
