I’ve posted about how tariffs are deflationary, just like VATs. The net effect, all other things being equal, is to decrease the money supply. Here’s an under-reported story and yes, the numbers could be exaggerated, but I don’t know how anyone thinks you can get anything but deflation out this kind of loss of renters and consumers in general.
