Don't Forget About Prop C Too! Vote NO!

We already spend upwards of 300M on the homeless as it is. Let’s not give big employers another reason to leave…

People should read about the history of Detroit. Don’t repeat past mistakes.

Speaking of Detroit, did you see that GM plans to move back there (HQ I think from NYC)???

homeless needs help. maybe not,
the politicans need more money for their program say to support homeless. yes
All these money funding increase, what result we get so far, more and worse homeless. let’s dump another 10 billion dollar to increase another million homeless ppl.

It’s just the Cadillac HQ. Moving it to NY was dumb in the first place. The corporate HQ is Detroit. Ford originally built that building and had to fire sale it in the 90’s. GM paid a fraction of the original construction price.

Any State-owned island off mainland suitable for homeless? Do we have more homeless or more criminals or more undocumented?

Where’s Katy going?

Detroit’s demise is due to a demographic shift. Are we seeing the same kind of shift taking place in the Bay Area?

It all started when they passed the business tax. Businesses started to leave. The demographic shift was after that.

Perfect place for the SF homeless. Detroit’s downfall can be traced to the 60s race riots and white flight. Not similar to the BA at all.

It started earlier. The population peaked in 1950 a full 17 years before the race riots.

What is the real reason? Thought is downfall of auto industry.

Oil embargo and rise of Japanese car making.

The city also overreached. They think they were invincible and overspent, much like what SF is doing today.

Blacks in mass moved to Detroit in WW2 to work in the war factories. White flight started in the 50s . Accelerated in the 60s.
Detroit rotted from the center. Whites moved to the suburbs.

Oil embargo was 70’s. Japanese cars weren’t a thing in the 50’s. The industry didn’t even have enough capacity to meet demand. Businesses started to leave when Detroit passed a business tax. People followed the businesses. Detroit lost 150,000 jobs to the suburbs in the 50’s.

Private industry I believe…

Katy is too sane for the board. Time to install another crazy there.

“The Controller’s Office has estimated that the proposed tax would generate $250 - $300 million per year.” From 2017-2018 the city spent $380 million on homeless services, so that sum represents a potential 78-plus percent boost.

SF already spent close to 400M on homeless services and what results do we get exactly?

The more homeless services provided the more homeless will show up. SF is a homeless magnet
