I’m down 4% for the year.
I’m up 1.4% in IRA and up 14.4% in taxable account. I just wish the market would pick a definitive direction, so then I can get aggressive. This current situation is boring.
Multifam FTW. Not there yet (for FIRE), but all my rentals are cashflow positive. And doing more qualitative buys and spreading it over enough units gives me an assurance of a certain amount of cashflow regardless of future market conditions (unless we go into a massive depression)
i will say 40s and leave it at that
Congrats. How long do you plan to keep your job? Is it an attractive idea to leave the 9-5?
Now I’m interested in knowing where your rentals are…
I like what I do, so will keep at it unless working conditions change materially or I decide going another year without a vacation isn’t worth it.
One tip:
- My only holding are index funds in my 401Ks (which are fire and forget) and about half my liquid reserves which are also in an index fund.
I do not spare that too, moved to fixed funds. We can get at dip, this again, when we guess the bottom.
Take your stock gains and move the money to the Sacramento MSA… multi family. I have a winner here in Tahoe. 94 units $15m
Crowd fund it with the people on this forum. I’ll take a stake
I’m a lone wolf.
I want 4 strong players. $1m each cash for the down payment.
Thanks God those using indexed life insurances are not losing anything.
Let’s wait for another mumbling jumbling from the Russian president. Talks about anything, but Putin and Stormy.
You what?
Calling the FBI…
Are you mostly in real estate? I guess your stock holdings is a very small portion of your networth. Opposite of hanera.

Opposite of hanera.
If I guess, hanera too has high portion in real estate than stocks.
Hanera has been saying he’s buying houses to diversify from stocks. I guess he’s heavy on stocks and his real estate is much smaller than the stock.
Other than hanera, wuqijun, Marcus and Terri, I guess everyone else is mostly RE and stock is a small portion.
I have purchased too much real estate the past several years so that my stock portfolio has paled in comparison… I think I should start reducing my real estate holdings and concentrate on propping up my stock portfolio again…

Implies the ratio of RE/ Stock > 1 , is it > 2 or 5 ?
