That is your perspective. Always want to win or one up attitude. Perhaps, they are just doing what other politicians (including Republicans) and businessmen do, dissociate with Trump. May be, China just wants to please Biden Admin (which is more beneficial) instead of what you claim (threats are never good - just look at how Trump is treated),
American politicians don’t have to please China or any other nations for their post-political life. Only need to please American businessmen and institution. Look at Al Gore, doing very well. Many Presidents and top admin politicians charge high price for speeches and consultancy to American businesses and institutions.
Domestic politics outsiders should stay out. Also only one country wants to sanction them?

Trump spends his entire last year bashing China only. It is way more beneficial for China to please Biden Admin, other nations don’t get much from it.
It’s true it’s American businesses in the lure for profits have fed this situation. US businesses are dependent on Chinese manufacturing for a large number of goods.
If a decoupling happens in the next decade none of these politicians or businesses will be bothered by these kinds of actions by the Chinese government.
External power Getting into domestic US political fights will not look good. China has been censured on Hong Kong, Uighur across both parties.
Politicians weigh the pros and cons before making a decision. They know what they are doing.
If the left cares so deeply about human rights, then they should lead the charge in putting pressure on China. No one should hold their breath waiting for it.
