How many affordable housing units do they plan to build with $300M? They’ll have to use union labor, so they’ll get maybe 300 units from it. It creates a headline that they are doing something about affordable housing, but 300 units is nothing when there’s 1.5M waiting for affordable housing… It’s using an eye dropper against a forest fire.
Turns out I wasn’t that far off. The Candlestick 100% affordable housing project cost $825K/unit.
