Hong Kong apartment prices

There is only one place in Canada suitable for living: Vancouver.

I was so wrong on HK property prices. It has been going straight up.

My buddy from Lowell is killing it in HK. Tech analyst who has been interviewed on the various business recap tv shows. Has been dabbling in property over there. He was the one who told me years ago to expect a ton of money to come to US and Canada. He was dead on. Shocked he gave up the Fab 7x7 for HK thoughā€¦

Iā€™m not surprisedā€¦not everyone likes your fab 7x7

They all doā€¦deep, deep inside. They wake up in a cold sweat thinking about those chicken wings and cable carsā€¦

Your buddy can finally have real Chinese food. After staying in HK for a while I can safely conclude most if not all Chinese restaurants in sf are crap.

There are a few places in the world where you can give up the Bay Area for. Hereā€™s my list:

  1. London
  2. HK / Shenzhen
  3. Vancouver
  4. LA / NY
  5. Sydney
  6. Singapore

Thatā€™s pretty much it though.

No more big cities for meā€¦Gives you a lot more options. .Big cities are for employees. .When retired you can expand your universe. .No more crowds, traffic, pollution, waiting in lineā€¦

Yeah, like you would knowā€¦ Mr. ā€œ3 stars in Yelpā€ is really, really goodā€¦ (that logical alone makes your credibility suspect, sirā€¦)

I think the ultimte power move is to live in expensive cities even when you donā€™t have a reason to. Like living in Palo Alto and sending kids to private schools anyway.

700k USD is the median price of a house in Seattle. Thatā€™s how much a parking space in HK costs.

My list is shorter:

  1. Singapore
  2. HK/ Shenzhen
  3. Vancouver

Actually, now that I think more about it, I think thereā€™s really just one realistic place for me: LA. :frowning:

East LA has the best Chinese food of America I heard.

East LA is also full of gangbangers and has horrible trafficā€¦High price to pay just to go out to eat

Dang, too many meetings so no Warriors parade for me todayā€¦ oh well, tv replay it is.

Come on, all great cities mentioned but I would include San Diego and Hawaii in there myself. I would love to experience how bad ā€œisland feverā€ really isā€¦

Letā€™s not forget @Elt1ā€™s South Lake Tahoe. I can truly see that as a cool place to live if one didnā€™t like big cities but still wanted some semblance of modern living conveniences.

Pocket change to someā€¦

That commission alone will pay for a lot of har gows ā€¦
