Folks,
heat is unbearable. whats the cheapest I can get a 3 ton central air conditioner installed and hooked up to the existing ducts?
Any recommendations or deals?
$5k
Hahahaha. I asked my husband how much he’d be willing to pay for AC to be installed in our rental too
Are the ducts in the attic? Do you think they are sealed? One option is always a mini split which will cost less to run and install (assuming you are ok cooling just one room)
How high is your room temperature? My AC kicks in at 80 F.
thanks for the inputs.
does homedepot give any deal on installation. their smaller appliance installation is free.
Doubtful, I trust myself to install a dishwasher, but not an AC unit.
Talked a property manager. . $3700, if you know the right installer
Is duct for heat or AC? Does heating and cooling need separate duct?
Ducts work for both. When retrofitting it’s a good chance to check your ductwork.
This is installation cost only or a/c unit + install?
Hvac guys quote materials and labor together. They become responsible for the equiptment. The unit itself isn’t very expensive if you aren’t going for the units with all the features. Most units are probably somewhere between 700-1500.
Yes
Wow, thats a bargain price. Any installer contacts in san jose area?
WE were thinking about installing an air conditioning unit, but with this weather that brings cold and heat with no predictability we are kind of hesitating on the subject.
But $3,500? That’s a steal! Or they want to steal something from you.
settled for a portable AC. works well, does a great job…
If you are thinking about one room. But 3?
