How the Coronavirus will affect Bay Area Housing Market

I left. Not my problem.

What we need is reasonable people on both sides of the aisle to work together while keeping the extremists on the fringe.

Finally starting to see reasonable Republicans start to come to the fore again. That’s a positive sign.

This will happen under Democrats? That too in CA. Even consuming 2 standard drinks of single malt scotch in the evening wouldn’t lead me to this dream.

I would love to see some civilized, moderate, law-abiding Republicans come into power. Unfortunately it will take some time for the party of Reagan to recover from the likes of Marjorie Taylor Green, Matt (Pedi) Gaetz and the Oathkeepers. Biden’s planned changes to the step-up basis and 1031 exchange are pissing me off…

Nothing wrong with republicans. Look at yourself first. You might find a few things to take care of.

Couldn’t agree more. Changes to capital gains are pretty scary. I’m hoping it’s just a starting point in what he expects to be a prolonged negotiation.

“I hope you are all continuing to do well!
Things do seem to be going better, both in the in the Covid numbers, the economy in general and with rental properties. We are getting more calls than we have in the last six months, although NOTHING like it was this time in 2019. Some of my friends in property management are seeing vacancy rates as high as 30-40%, we are less than 10%.

In the last two months, I have seen at least six Summerhill tenants give notice, because they bought a property (house or condo)! I am always happy to see tenants become home owners, but it’s a definite strain on our rentals!!”

That’s the observations of my property manager who is peninsula and South Bay.

I just rented out a 1300sf 3/2 house in South Lake Tahoe. Asked $3100. Got $3750. 40 inquiries. Could only show it to three candidates, covid19 is actually helping. One showed up with a bag full of $70k in cash. Sorry you Texas investors missed out. I had just bought it. The previous tenant was paying $1500. I am looking for low end rentals anywhere in Eldorado County. This is the gold rush part II.

Why bring 70k cash to rent a house? Is the guy a drug dealer?

Pot farmer. Tahoe is very liberal. Cody Bass our leading legal drug dealer is on the city council and a friend of mine. Even the legal dealers like his Tahoe Wellness have to use cash because it is illegal to the Feds. Anyway there is a ton of money floating around in Eldorado county driving up rents.
By the way I didn’t rent to the pot farmer. I rented to a guy that will rent out rooms on Airbnb. The house is in the county no short term rental ban. He can gross $6k per month and still live there. Win win for him and me.

Is this a safe posting to make? No worries about concrete shoes?

We consider drug dealers part of our charm and history in Tahoe. I have met Ciro Mancuso the olympians Julia’s father. He was the biggest Thai weed importer in the 70s .

Also lived next to the former Mayors house in the Keys. He died not long after being in prison for drug dealing. Colorful guy with a 25 year old girl friend and a yellow Ferrari.

Not to mention all the dead Italians at the bottom of the lake.
The mob provided the money to develop the early Tahoe casinos.

Cody Bass is a legitimate business man. Pot is legal now.
