How the Coronavirus will affect Bay Area Housing Market

.

Those who go to Whole Foods believed in organic  I went to WF, Trader Joe, COST, H-Mart, Ranch 99, Target and Nordstrom depending on what I am buying. They don’t sell the same items.

I have ton of free time and cross shop. Lucky’s/Safeway are way more expensive when things are not on sale. Costco has a good buying them and their perishables tend to be higher quality than those companies. Costco after 7pm is fairly quiet.

guy that spends hours a week wandering in grocery stores, former Instacart shopper, former Whole Foods cashier.

Not true. Whole Foods meat, seafood and fruits and vegetables are amazing, even non organic ones. If you are rich enough to not care about food prices, then WF is one stop shop for all food items. Feel sorry for people who have to buy their food and grocery from Costco TBH. No comparison. WF also has awesome selection of other food items, nuts, snack, eggs, milk product, etc. Their food bar is also amazing (check e.g. Sunnyvale WF).

.

Unfortunately, I can’t get everything I want in WF. Is why I go to so many grocery stores per week. I visited each (listed in previous post) grocery store at least once a week. I constantly tried to limit the trips/ stores to go but they don’t sell the same items.

Meat in WF is not that fresh. For example, sashimi, best is H-Mart.

I understand Ranch, but what you get at Lucky/Safeway/TJ that you do not at WF?

.

Kind of right. Is why I don’t go to Lucky/Safeway after awhile. There is no TJ in Austin. But I recall there are still some items that TJ has that WF don’t. When I was in CU, WF is nearer to my house, yet I go to TJ occasionally.

We know @Elt1 doesn’t shop at Whole Foods. He likes his ground beef to be 1.99/lb or less.

Best Foods Mayo!

Notice I don’t go to other Chinese grocery stores even though their prices are cheaper. Same as you, not as good quality. Ranch 99 and H-Mart are :+1:

So the discussion was about “I” or was it about the typical Bay Area shopper?

Typical is boring. Picking apart or learning from each other more fun.

I love Costco and I don’t look at my finances so not sure if we are “stressed” or not.

We actually spend more at Costco than I would at regular grocery stores. they have some stuff I can’t get elsewhere that we like.

What about Elon musk’s portfolio?

Yes and Fed’s Powell is lying through the teeth.
Inflation and home prices everywhere will keep growing.

Peter schiff was right in 2006 I believe, Mortgage Banker’s speech?

Maybe he’ll be right again in 2022. However the Fed and Govt might be too strong most of the times.

Btw here’s what Larry Summers says in WAPO and he’s been shouting about Inflation BEFORE Powell and Biden said it’s transitory and then kept changing their versions every subsequent iteration.

I hope the Fed will make clear that inflation reduction is its principle objective, and that it will wind down efforts to promote worthy but nonmonetary goals such as social justice and environmental protection.

Just curious about Bay Area crowds vs almost no crowds at other places.

I’ve read(on this forum) that Bay Area people are very smart though, as compared to rest of the US
