How Trump has handled the pandemic

At least one blogger understands what “flattening the curve” meant.

Well we could quarantine the hot spots. But of course Cuomo went bat-shit crazy at the suggestion.

Why is Newsom presidential? CA is a hot spot.

You need to make up mind on Newsom. do you love him or hate him? The guy is killing small real estate business among others.

No he doesn’t. This isn’t Fox News and there’s room for nuance.

I hate him, but renters love him. If he keeps the virus deaths low compared to Italy or NYC he will be a hero and potentially president in 2024.

he don’t relese the test number

He will never be president no matter what happens with the virus. No support whatsoever outside urban centers. You need at least some.

Newsom won’t go even as far as Kamala did.

This is start of pain process which anyone undergo hate in their life. See Macys update, they are already struggling retailer, furlough big mass of people.

Having seen 2000 and 2008, the road to recovery is too long and it is beyond the term of next president, be it Bernie sanders or Biden or Trump. Their whole term will be completed to bring back the economy !

President can make a difference or fed can make a difference to some extend, but it takes time to recover. IMO, it is beyond 2008 level, but not for real estate, but to entire economy.

I am worried about local economy of CA which is a big part of US economy. What the governor and local government do will have big impact on the way thing will work out. The negative intervention by CA governor so far in private decisions does not send lot of optimism to me. We will so how bad can it get, or can free market do well in-spite of that.

With this news from fed, 47 Millions expected unemployed, 32% rate, we are completed doomed (if true)

Earlier this week, the central bank official forecast that the unemployment rate will skyrocket to 30%, higher than it was even during the Great Depression.

At the end, we will defintely recover lot better than other countries, but struggle is long way.

Several of my tenants are still going to pay rent this month. Only a couple have lost their jobs but got rehired. Fast food places are hiring, so are grocery and pharmacy. Since most of my tenants are eligible to do that kind of work I maybe ok. I will report back after the tenth. I am sure a few will ask for a delay or reduction. I think maintenance and construction jobs will continue also. We don’t have a lot of high paying non essential office jobs. My neighbor lost her job at the local dentist. However my other neighbor works in SF as an endodontist and is still working.

I guess Trump wants the US to be #1?

Earlier in the day, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said the outbreak in the state may not peak for three weeks. “I’m tired of being behind this virus. We’ve been behind this virus from day one,” the governor said in Albany. “We underestimated this virus. It’s more powerful, it’s more dangerous than we expected.”

Admitting/ realizing mistakes is the beginning of rectification

“We can not be discouraged by that because the mitigation is actually working and will work.”

Evidence?

In terms of number of deaths and number of deaths per million people, Italy and Spain are the highest two. The two numbers will start to accelerate once the healthcare system breakdown.

“This is not the flu,” Trump said. He said some executives with “great common sense” suggested that the U.S. “ride it out” and not do mitigation. “This is not to be ridden out.”

@pandeyathotmail What say you?

He is right and so are many who are fighting coronavirus. What he says is that you fight the pandemic. But, you do not kill the faith people have in the human spirit. You do not kill hope. Fight coronavirus but create no hysteria and panic. Did media and politicians create fear and Panic for H1N1 though more people will be likely die with it than coronavirus? Do you need to crash the economy to fight coronavirus? Do you need to create millions of people jobless to fight coronavirus? That is the point that is up for debate. Fighting coronavirus was never up for discussion.
